week 50 Memorial Day

Another great week!! We had exchanges with elders in our district on Wednesday. I went to a little town called Waller with Elder Blackford. He's been out for about 15 months. It was super awesome and the little towns reminded me a lot of Sealy. Good times!! Later on in the week, I we went on another exchange with the other Elders in our district. I went with Elder Wyman again. We knocked doors for awhile and it was super fun. The very first door we knocked on we got a return appointment and she really wanted her family to hear our message. We kept seeing success that day and got a bunch of return appointments. So we are praying that they work out!

In our area we found 5 new investigators so we are super excited to start working with them this week. One of them is a girlfriend of a member in our ward. She came to church yesterday and liked it so we are excited for our next lesson with her.

But the highlight of the week happened yesterday! We had a fireside as a Spanish program and my recent convert Rosa bore her testimony!! She shared the story of her conversion and it was so powerful. She has the strongest testimony of this gospel and it was amazing to see how this gospel has changed her life. I love her and her family with all my heart. They are getting sealed this October and I cannot wait for that day to come!

I'm super excited to get to work this week!! I hope all is well with y'all. I will talk to you next week :)

week 48 New Area!!

Hey everyone!! I don't have a ton of time today but this week has been great! It was sooo nice being able to talk to y'all yesterday and I hope that you had a great Mother's Day mom :) I have been transferred to the Louetta Spanish ward and my companions name is Elder Pogroszski from Ephraim, UT. He played college baseball and this is his last transfer in the mission so I will be "killing" him in mission language haha. He is the zone leader and I am the district leader so it's going to be a busy transfer. I'm excited for all that I will be able to learn from him these next couple weeks as well. Our district baptized two people this last weekend and we have another this week as well. We are seeing a ton of miracles here. We have a couple solid investigators but we weren't able to get them to church yesterday. The Louetta Ward is sooo sweet!! We had a Mother's Day party with a mariachi band haha. We get a ton of help in the work from the members as well. We went on exchanges friday for a baptismal interview. I went with Elder Wyman from Alpine, UT. In their ward they had a mariachi band with their Mother's Day party too so I went to two parties last week haha. We are going to the temple this week so I'm super excited for that. The temple is actually in my area so it's not far at all. Hope y'all had a great Mother's Day and I will talk to y'all next week :)

week 47 Bendiciones

Hey family! I had another great week here in Texas. We had a family referred to us from another ward that lives in our area but goes to a different church building. The mother is a member and the rest of the family are not members. We taught one lesson with them and it went super great. They all accepted to be baptized when they know that he Book of Mormon is true. They came to church yesterday and loved it! We are planning on setting dates with them on Tuesday to enter the waters of baptism! I was able to go to MLC on Tuesday for my first time. It was great to be there with all the leaders of the mission and talk about ways on how we can improve and also things that we are doing good. I also was able to go on exchanges with Elder Williams the next day after MLC. We knocked for a couple hours and a huge lightning storm started. The storms here in Texas are soooo crazy. Everything truly is bigger in Texas haha. We got transfer calls last night and it looks like I will be transferred out of Westgreen and away from Katy! I'm sad to leave after getting attached to the members here and also receiving this awesome new family but I know the lord has plans for me somewhere else. I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds. I will find out tomorrow where I'm going so I will let you all know next week where I am! Yesterday at sacrament I bore my testimony after having fasted for 24 hours. I truly felt myself come closer to my savior Jesus Christ as I fasted yesterday. My testimony grew of the opportunity that we have to fast. Whenever we need extra help, fasting is a blessing we have to be able to receive answers and to acercarnos (that's the only word that makes sense to me in this sentence haha)  to Jesus Christ and the spirit! I love this gospel and I love my savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for the emails this past week!! I'll talk to you on Sunday fam!! :)

week 46: weekly

Another week down in Katy.

Ok so I'm just gonna start with a crazy story that happened this week! I was sitting in sacrament in the Cinco West Ward (our English ward) and I looked over and I swear I recognized a girl that was sitting down the row from us. I got up and went and talked to her and it ended up being Brinley Wood haha. I didn't know her very well but I had heard of her and her family before. Her family moved to Katy like three years ago from IF and now I'm serving in their ward! It was crazy. We are going to go eat with their family sometime this week.

I went on a two night exchange with Elder Self this week. We were able to teach their investigators that have a date for next month and it was a great lesson. They are super cool and the spirit was strong. While I was on that exchange, my comp and Elder Jones found a new investigator hat had been being taught by missionaries in the past. He was super legit so they set a baptismal date with him in the first lesson. I was so excited about it but then he ended up being in the other Elders area in Sealy so we had to give him up... you're welcome Sealy Elders.

We had zone conference this week and it was sooo awesome. President Mortensen only has one more transfer left with us so his time is ticking away. I love hearing from him and sister Mortensen and receiving council from them.

District leaders were invited to mlc tomorrow so I will be going to that. I'm excited to be apart of it and learn form all the great leaders that we have in our mission.

We currently have 0 active investigators so we literally will be finding all week. I'm excited to get out and find those in our area that are prepared.

I hope everything is great with y'all back home. I can't believe how fast time is going by. This is the last week of the transfer so I will let y'all know where I will be going or if I'm staying next week. I can't believe how fast time is going by. I hit a year in the mission next transfer! Thanks for all that you do for me :)
