Week 27 Feliz Navidad de Texas!!
I don't have a ton of time this week but la familia garsa came to our branch Christmas party. They made a ton of friends and the mom is getting work off next week so they can come to church! They are soooo awesome. We helped build the house in eagle lake and helped brother turner fix his house up as well. We went fishing today at a members house. We have interviews with our mission president tomorrow and then Wednesday we have a mission Christmas conference. For Christmas we don't have any plans so we will see what happens haha. Christmas Eve we are going to a members house.
I love being a missionary during this time of year and helping others remember the true spirit of Christmas. There is nothing I would rather be doing. I love this gospel and I love my savior Jesus Christ.
Have a great week and Merry Christmas :)

week 26 HURRY CALL 911
This week was full of miracles!! Elder child and I received an awesome referral from a different set of elders in a different area! Her name is Brenda and she has been in the US for about 2 months. She is from Mexico and is staying here with her family til about February. She is so legit! We have taught her the restoration and she has started to read in the Book of Mormon. We told her that she can receive an answer from god that the Book of Mormon is true and she looked up at us and said (in Spanish) "Really? Have you received an answer"? We were able to testify of the Book of Mormon and invite her to pray about it so she can receive an answer. We are planning to set a baptismal date with her this week!
After knocking doors pretty much all day, we decided to go to the apartment and get some dinner before we taught English class. We had gotten burgers to cook and on the package it said we could broil them so we thought we would give it a try haha. So we put them in and leave and come back in the room and the oven was glowing sooo we open it up and the oven was on fire. We were so scared haha we started running around, looking for a fire extinguisher and couldn't find one. So I go to grab the phone to call 911 and Elder Child grabs a bucket of water and just dumps it in the oven and the fire got super big then went away really fast haha. We realized after that you aren't supposed to put water on a grease fire but it worked so that is why this week was full of miracles. Haha
We had a Christmas concert with a Catholic Church and that went good. Ill send pics for that.
Thanks for all you're support and I love you all!
Have a great week.

week 25 #ILUMINAELMUNDO
I know my subject to my email is very cliche but I love this new
message that the church has come out with this Christmas season. We
have been tracting going around sharing this years christmas video,
helping others realize the true meaning of Christmas and helping
others realize the importance of serving others. It has been awesome
to see people light up as we show this video to them. I love serving
our savior during this time of year. There is truly nothing else I
would rather be doing in my life at this time.
This week I went on an exchange with one of my zone leaders. He is
such an awesome missionary and I loved being with him for a day. He
literally talks to EVERYONE. His area is on bikes and so it was my
first day on bikes on the mission so far haha. My legs were sooo sore
haha. But it was awesome and I loved being able to talk to so many
people on the streets. We stopped at a bus stop and just talked to all
the parents as they were picking up their kids. We helped a guy change
his battery in his car on the side of the road twice. We talked to
joggers and so many other people. I loved being able to be on bikes so
much that the next day elder child and I drove up to the mission
office to try to get bikes to use in our area but there weren't
anymore so we are waiting a couple weeks til they get some fixed. I
think I have said this before but we drive a truck and have about 5 or
6 different little towns in our area so we are planning on keeping the
bikes in the back of our truck and driving to a town then riding our
bikes around town. I'm stoked!
I can't believe how fast time is moving. I hit 6 months on the mission
this week and Christmas is rapidly approaching. This is my favorite
time of year. Partly because I love Christmas and partly because it is
going to be under 40 this week!! It feels sooo nice after going
through this last summer haha :) Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TREYTON this
week on Saturday!
Have a great week everyone love you all!

week 23 Chupacabra
Happy thanksgiving everyone! I'm gonna miss being home for the holidays but there is no place I would rather be then right here serving our savior Jesus Christ. Thanksgiving is such an awesome holiday for us to share all the many blessings from our Heavenly Father. We had another great week here in Sealy. My companion Elder Child and I were running around trying to get everything ready for the baptism we had on Saturday. Everything ended up going really good. Maria was baptized on Saturday and then confirmed the Sunday afterwards. The spirit was so strong and it was so cool to see her take this step in her life. She is going to Mexico with her husband for the holidays for a month to visit family so we can't see her til she gets back but we have a goal to get her into the temple when she gets back!
So some funny stories from this week. Elder child and I were tracting in a neighborhood that had a little park in the middle of it. Idk what motivated me to do this haha but I starting running towards the swing set and started running up the slide. It was dark so I could not see the pole that went side wides across the top of the slide haha. I ended up running full speed into the pole haha. It hurt so bad but we went back to the car and I looked at my nose and I had a giant gash on my nose and blood running down my face so I went to English class with blood all over me haha. Also back in the spring when Houston had all the flooding going on, a members house got flooded here and he is still fixing stuff in it so we helped him tear out all his tile. Some of it wouldn't come out so easily so I took a sledgehammer to it and started to smash it all. It was soooo fun. Until I looked down at my hand and realized all the shards of tile were coming back up and cutting my hand so my whole hand was cut up and bleeding haha. I still can't really shake people's hands. We are still helping build a house in eagle lake every Saturday. It is coming along well. Saturday morning it got down to the 40s and I was sooooo cold haha. I haven't felt anything that cold in awhile. It's gonna be a struggle to adjust to winter in Idaho again. Good thing I don't have to worry about that for awhile :)
We had zone conference on Tuesday. It was so good to receive some council from our amazing mission president, President Mortensen. I left ready to work and teach the way that he counseled with us to do. I always feel so edified when I leave his meetings. It was good to talk to and see some other missionaries that I hadn't seen in awhile as well.
We set a baptismal date with our investigator Marco last Monday. He is such a stud. He has read to chapter 17 of the Book of Mormon and he likes it a lot. He has his 3 year old son visiting here for a week from Colorado and he brought him to church with him on Sunday. He has so much love for his kids that he barely even sees. I feel super connected to him and like I was supposed to meet him. He's the man!
Transfer calls were last night and it looks like Elder Child and I will be staying here in Sealy for another transfer! I'm excited for this transfer knowing that Elder Child and I are both willing to do whatever it takes to do the lords work. We are setting some goals for us as a companionship and we are gonna do whatever it takes to accomplish these tasks!
Thank you for all your support! I love being here in the Texas Houston mission and for the opportunity to serve so many people. También, estoy muy agradecido por la oportunidad para aprender el mejor idioma en todo el mundo, español :). Tengan un buen Día de Gracias!

week 22 Banana Splits
This week was super busy. We were able to go to the temple on Wednesday and also have interviews with mission president. Our mission president is sooo awesome and he is a great example to me. I love being able to talk to him and spend some time with him.
We also had a training planning with the APs. They helped us better understand how to plan successfully to better prepare for the week and next day. One quote that Elder Barton said was "To learn to plan is to learn to be like god." God is the best planner out of everyone. He made this whole perfect plan for us to be here.
We also had a Spanish fireside on Sunday with all the Spanish missionaries. Recent converts share their testimonies and we gave a musical performance. It was super cool and I felt the spirit so strong.
Everything is going great here. Transfers are next week so I will find out next p day if I'm staying or leaving Sealy.
I'll let y'all know! Love you all have a great week.

week 21 #month5
I learned lots of things this week. But one thing that stood out over all the other things was that daylight savings is the best day of the mission. The extra hour of sleep was amazing haha I woke up and felt like I had soooo much energy I didn't know what to do with it.
This week was super good. Our investigator Maria is on track for her baptism date on the 19th.
This next week we are going to the temple and also have a Spanish fireside.
Here's some pictures so you can see I'm still alive. Have a great week everyone :)

week 20 Happy Halloween Y'all! 👻
I don't have a ton of time but this week we met 3 new investigators that are super solid! We have return appointments with them this week so I will let you know how that goes this week.
We had exchanges one night and I went with Elder Toolson from UT. Him and I are so much alike and we had a lot of fun and taught some great lessons. We went to trunk or treat with the branch and got some great candy there.
Our investigator Diana was out of town so we didn't see her.
We set a date with our investigator Maria which will be the first baptism in the Spanish branch for two years. We are super excited for her!
Everything is going great and thanks for all the Halloween candy! :)
have a great week!

week 19 BodaBap
What's up everyone!? Life here in Sealy is great!
Monday we had a quick exchange and I went with Elder McArthur from Wyoming. He is super cool. He is English speaking and we went to a couple lessons together one of them was a Spanish lesson. I like going to lessons in Spanish with an English elder cause it makes me realize the progress I have made in learning Spanish! I'm definitely still learning and always will be but it feels good to know what people say sometimes haha. We also set a date with our investigator Diana for the 19th of November. She has had a hard life and looks a little rough around the edges but she is willing to change and is reading the Book of Mormon. She is super awesome.
On every Saturday morning we go down to eagle lake to help volunteer on building a house for a family. I will send a picture of the house so far. I also had the opportunity to go to my old investigators baptism and wedding. Rosa and Brian got married and then right after Rosa was baptized. It was so cool to see them so happy and accomplish their goal of being married and baptized. I was so happy that I could make it to see them.
I also got to see my trainer Elder Jones. I had been away from him for only like a week and a half and it felt like forever haha. I missed him it was so good to see him along with all the members that I grew so close to in H5.
I'm so thankful to be on a mission to meet so many awesome people and bring this gospel to so many peoples lives. I'm so thankful for all of you and for helping me get on a mission because it is the best decision I have ever made!
I hope you all have a good week and I will talk to you soon.

week 18 Me gustan las vacas
Hello everyone!! This was the first week out of training and it went really well! I got transferred to Sealy, TX. I live here in Sealy but I actually cover about 5 different towns about 30 minutes apart from each other. They are all just tiny southern country towns I love it so much! The only problem is we don't find as much Spanish out here so we end up teaching in English most the time. Looks like I gotta study even harder to keep my Spanish!!
My companion is Elder Child from Ogden UT. He is a super nice/cool kid and we get along very well. We cover a little Spanish branch with about 30 people in it and we work a lot with the English branch as well. This week my old trainer Elder Jones called and said that our old investigator Rosa passed her baptismal interview and she will be baptized this coming Saturday!! I'm soooo excited for her. She is so ready to be baptized and we have seen soooo many miracles with her and it is all through the Book of Mormon! This area doesn't have a ton going on right now so we have to do a lot of work to bring it back up. I'm excited for the challenge and I'm gonna do my best to turn it around! Everything is going good and even though the mission gets hard at times, there is no place I would rather be.
Thanks for all your support and I hope you have a great week!

week 17
This week was a pretty crazy one to say the least haha. I was sick for a couple days and then as soon as I started to get over it my comp got the flu. So we were in the apartment for most of the day. I actually enjoyed it though because I got to do some more language study! We had zone meeting on Saturday and we also went to dinner with some of Elder Jones distant relatives that live here along with a baptism that night. Our investigator Rosa is doing great as well. She is on track for her date on the 22nd. On Sunday a guy from Spain came to church that is visiting here for a month or two. His Spanish was sooooo legit haha.My comp and I always get so stoked when we meet people from other places. We had exchanges on Wednesday and I got to be with Elder Williams again. He is super funny and he taught me a lot. We decided to take a picture for our new album cover and you can see that at the bottom. We also took a family we are teaching to the temple and walked around and explained a little bit of why we have temples. It was super awesome and it went well.We had a huge service project on Wednesday helping with a senior citizen community get together thingy haha. It actually was super awesome and we met some great people.Last night were transfer calls and I found out I'm getting transferred out of my baby area and I am officially done with training! I don't know where to yet but I will let y'all know as soon as possible! I'm gonna miss Elder Jones and all he has taught me but the lord needs me somewhere else! I'm super excited to see what's ahead of me.Anyways thanks so much for all the support and I love you all!Have a great week.Elder Cammack

week 16 conferencia general
This week was another good one. General conference was so amazing as a missionary. I have honestly never really seen the blessing of being able to hear from apostles of god until this conference. The spirit was so strong as they talked and I know all that they say comes from their own revelation from god. I loved every minute of it. There were so many talks that touched me and could feel the spirit in but I think the one I loved the most was Garretts old mission president Elder Nattress. His testimony touched my heart and I felt the spirit so strong. It was super good! I watched about half in Spanish and half in English and I liked it a lot. I can just pick up words and phrases in Spanish so I don't pick up in everything. It was nice to switch over to English every now and then and understand it all.
Also our investigator was able to come to church this week to watch general conference with her family after getting work off on Sundays. She loved it and it went well. She is now on track for her baptism on the 22. I was also able to eat something other than Mexican or Honduran food after conference and have some good ole Texas BBQ. It was sooooo good and nice to have a switch up haha. Honestly nothing beats Mexican food though. I was ready to go back to the tortillas after the meal :) Speaking Spanish in the states is great because we get to pick up so many different cultures and accents. I love it so much! We went to the museum downtown for p day today as well. It was super fun. This week is the last week of the transfer and I will most likely stay in my area but who knows!! I will let you all know the news next

week 15
What's up fam! I don't have a ton of time today but everything is going good. We had Elder Larry Echohawk from the seventy come to our zone conference this week. He spoke with such a strong spirit and motivated me a lot to become a better missionary. He is a convert and has a great conversion story with his wife. We had one of our investigators quit her job so she can come to church on sundays so she is on track to be baptized on October 22. Her husband was baptized a long time ago in Mexico so he is going to baptize her. He came to. Hurry this Sunday with his two kids. The mom is coming next week. We are super excited for that. I tried to find the most Mexican looking hat possible at a gas station the other day. I had good success with that as you will see in my picture. Everything is going good and I'm so thankful for all your support! Have a great week!!
